Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends, Although I've been in this role for just months, I feel as if I have been here for years — mainly because I have. I grew up in the area (my mother was a longtime Cornell employee), and I have worked in Alumni Affairs and Development at Cornell for more than 20 years. So, I already know many of you. Soon, I hope to know many more. When I refect on ILR's past and present, I think of people like Harriet Oxman and Jerry Alpern — two of our earliest alumni who have given of themselves to make the school a better place. Alumni of different generations may pursue different studies and careers, but they share an abiding love for the institution. They stay connected with each other, with the faculty, with the school. They are proud to be ILR graduates. Today, you can share that pride in so many ways. In addition to this mag- azine, you can connect with us through Alumni eNews and the alumni website, or through Cornell ILR's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, plus the Kheel Center's Flickr site. Of course, there's no better way to stay connected than in person. In the months to come, we will host a farewell tour for Harry Katz in his fnal year as dean. We have events planned for New York City, Washing- ton, D.C., Boston, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. Planning is also underway for the Groat and Alpern celebration, which will be held April 9 at The Pierre in New York City. We invite you to join us at these and other events and take an active role in shaping ILR's future. If you'd like to be a guest speaker, offer internships, discuss a donation or just say hello, I'd love to hear from you.
