ILR Graduates Prepared for Many Possibilities Spring is a beautiful time of year on the Cornell campus. Winter is behind us, and we're feeling good about the prospect of warmer days and brighter skies. At Commencement on May 26, ILR students will officially turn their attention to bright futures. Their paths will take many directions. That's the beauty of an ILR education. It's well-rounded and provides many opportunities for practical learning inside and outside the classroom. We prepare students for so many possibilities. Our newest graduates will start careers in diverse fields such as human resources, financial management, government and labor relations.  Or, they will head to law school, graduate school or serve in a program such as Teach for America. Year after year, ILR grads fare exceptionally well, even in a tough job market. Many have already secured positions, and some have fielded several offers. This issue of Advance celebrates the Class of 2013 and student excellence at ILR. Profiles and stories showcase how an ILR degree prepares them to lead in any field. As Whitney Holman '13 says on page 2, "ILR has made me really adaptable. I can be put in any situation, apply the skills I learned, and turn that situation into a success story." I hope you enjoy reading the second issue of Advance. As you'll see, ILR's commitment to academic excellence, and our students' passion for making a difference in the world, live on. I also hope our newest alums will, like so many of you, stay connected and bring their knowledge back to future generations of ILRies. As they begin the next phase of career and life, I invite you to reach out and welcome the Class of 2013 into the ILR alumni family.
